Personal Timeline of Dr. Ray Stantz
David Stantz marries Scottish girl Carolyn MacMillan. Stantz is part of large family (at least two brothers and a sister) and becomes a doctor.
Carl Stantz, the first child of Dr. David Stantz and his wife Carloyn, is born (presumably in the Bronx)
October 13 Raymond Francis Stantz is born in the Bronx.
Birth of Jean Stantz, the third child of David and Carolyn.
Sometime before 1970, the Stantzes move to Morrisville, but the timing and reasons of this move have not been established. It is believed that an unnamed brother of David's lives in or near Morrisville.
Dr. David Stantz and his wife Carolyn die in a car accident. Their three children are split between different homes--Ray remains in Morrisville, and is raised by a cold, emotionally distant uncle.
Carl Stantz enlists in the United States Air Force. By 1983, he is married and the father of two sons. Details on Jean's life are sketchier, but by 1983 she had already married, had a daugther, divorced, and moved to California to pursue a bisexual life style (she might also date Venkman at some point)
Ray Stantz graduates high school and attentds Columbia University. He meets two guys named Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler. By 1983, the three all have PhDs and work as parapsychology researchers at Columbia's Weaver Hall. Ray works for a private company, East Industries, for a brief time.
Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Ray Stantz, and Dr. Egon Spengler are fired from Columbia, and form Ghostbusters Inc.
Ray inherits the joke shop of his father's brother, Gaylord Stantz. He eventually sells it.
Ray meets Katharine Summers in England
Ghostbusters Inc. is forced from business. Ray uses the money from the sale of Gaylord's joke shop to open his own occult bookstore in Greenwich Village. He and Winston Zeddemore appear at children's parties in Ghostbuster costume over the next two years
Late in the year, Ghostbusters Inc. reactivates.
Ray Stantz meets Elizabeth Hawthorne, the Hermetic maga known as "Lady Enlightenment"
Ghostbusters Inc. is dissolved once more, at Egon's instigation, leading to a major rift with the other Ghostbusters as well.
Ray accepts a job as a reasearcher at Stanford. This ends when an accident destroys his lab--he is fired from Stanford and forced to work a series of demeaning odd jobs--by the end of 1997, he's a used car salesman in Colorado.
Ray Stantz marries
The exact timing of Ray's marriage and the identity of his wife have not been established. Elaine Fuhrman ("Look Homeward Ray" is one possibility. Katharine Summers ("A Lawsuit is Better Than Hell (But Only Just)" and Liz Hawthorne ("Shadow of the Inquisitors") are also possibilities
Birth of Eric Stantz
Late in the year, the original Ghostbusters are reunited by the efforts of Janine Melnitz. Ray and his family return to New York in early 1998, and resume activities with the company.
Ray is still alive in the year 2023, as seen in "Future Shocks", as is his wife, Eric's mother. Eric is a Hermetic Wizard, and a member of the Ghostbusters
